Teaching Duration: 40 minutes

Teaching Purpose: (教学目标)

To inspire students of Junior Grade 3 to learn English actively and effectively by means of a brief introduction of their new English teacher and the textbook they are going to learn in the new semester as well as a hot discussion in class on what makes a good English learner.

激发初三学生积极高效地学好英语。

Teaching Aids:  (教具)

A multi-media facility and a traditional blackboard.

Teaching method:(教学方法)

Communicative interaction and Computer-Assisted Instruction are to be used in the course of this period.

真实交际性互动及计算机辅助教学。

 

Teaching Procedure (教学流程)

Step 1.  Greeting the class  课堂引入 (教师介绍5分钟;学生介绍5分钟)

After the teacher’s self-introduction, 3 or 4 students will be chosen to introduce themselves.

在老师出彩的自我介绍后,请3、4个学生来向新老师介绍自己或同学。

 

Step 2.  A brief introduction of the contents of the whole textbook. (15分钟)

生动有趣的教材内容简介

There are 14 units as follows. 本册书有以下14个单元。

Unit1     How can we become good learners?   怎样成为一个会学习的人?

Unit2     I think that mooncakes are delicious!   月饼好美味哦?

Unit3     Could you please tell me where the restrooms are?   请您告诉我一下厕所在哪里?

Unit4     I used to be afraid of the dark.  我曾经害怕黑暗。

Unit5     What are the shirts made of? 衬衫是用什么材料做成的?

Unit6     When was it invented?   它是什么时候被发明的?

Unit7     Teenagers should be allowed to choose their own clothes.

青少年应该被允许选择自己的衣服。

Unit8     It must belong to Carla.  它一定是属于Cala.的。

Unit9     I like music that I can dance to. 我喜欢可以随之起舞的音乐。

Unit10    You are supposed to shake hands. 你应该握手。

Unit11    Sad movies made me cry.  悲伤的电影使我哭泣。

Unit12    Life is full of the unexpected.  生活中充满了意想不到的事情。

Unit13    We’re trying to save the earth!  我们正尽力拯救地球。

Unit14    I remember meeting all of you in Grade 7. 我记得在七年级遇到你时的情形。

To arouse students’ interest, try to introduce this section using a traditional Chinese game“击鼓传花”.

以“击鼓传花”的游戏方式来向学生介绍各单元话题。

 

Step 3 An impressive introduction of the grammar focus: 特别介绍本册书的语法重点

  1. The Passive Voice 被动语态
  2. The Past Perfect Tense 过去完成时
  3. Objective Clauses & Attributive Clauses 宾语从句和定语从句
  4. Word Formation 构词法

Call students’ special attention to the grammar items in the textbook while guiding them to recall what have been dealt before.

引导学生回忆所学语法项目来提醒他们重视即将学习的语法重点。

 

Step 4.  How can we learn English well?  英语学习方法讨论探究 (14分钟)

  1. The whole class discuss in groups of 4 and exchange ideas with the rest of the class.

四人小组讨论并交流如何学好英语。

  1. Watch a video show to learn from a top student

观看视频聆听学长学法指导。

  1. Teacher ends this activity with her suggestions and expectations.

铭记老师的教导和期待。

  1. Students and the teacher enjoy an inspiring video show and finish off with inspiring words in

mind.

师生共享励志短片。

 

Step 5. Assignment 任务布置 (1分钟)

Writing task:写作

Create a short passage with an attractive title mainly about your first impression of the new English teacher and your advice to her. (At least 120 words)

自拟标题完成一篇120词左右的短文,讲述自己对姚老师的第一印象并给她提几条教学建议。
